Today’s S2 geography field trip was a success! Our classmates ventured to the Northwest New Territories for an in-depth study of land use.
First, we observed the timber factory, power plant, and cement factory in Tuen Mun from the bus. Through our teacher’s detailed explanations, the students gained a better understanding of the location factors for these industrial facilities.
Next, we arrived at Tsim Bei Tsui, where we observed the characteristics of natural forest vegetation and admired the stunning scenery of the wetland mangroves, learning about the ecological value of mangrove forests.
Our final stop was at Lau Fau Shan. Our students used instruments to measure the conductivity and pH levels of the water at the seaside, analyzing the situation of water pollution. Afterwards, we visited various shops along Lau Fau Shan Street to gain insights into the local seafood sales and the impact of water pollution on them
