The S5 geography students went to Luk Keng and Bride’s Pool for a field study on rural land use and fluvial landforms. First, in Luk Keng, they observed the distribution of local village houses, farmland, feng shui woods, and mangroves, learning how past Hakka villagers cleverly utilized the terrain to establish settlements. This helped them understand the interrelationship between humans and the natural environment. Next, they arrived at Bride’s Pool, where they observed the fluvial processes in the upper course of the river and the related landforms. After climbing and crossing the stream, they finally reached the waterfall, gaining insights into how geology and rivers shape the local natural landscape. It was a fulfilling outdoor geography lesson.
