The Chinese History, History, and Putonghua departments joined hands to bring nearly sixty students on an immersive journey into Chinese culture. We ventured into TVB’s TV City in Tseung Kwan O, wandering through the sets of period dramas and experiencing the pulse of millennia-old culture by "living through history" firsthand.
During the activity, guided by actors, the students explored an ancient-style street and delved into the social landscapes and daily life of the Song Dynasty and early Republican era through multiple historical dramas. This transformed textbook knowledge into vivid stories right before their eyes.
Most memorably, the students dressed in Hanfu themselves and used their own cameras to film videos collaboratively created by their groups. This event was truly a historical dialogue that transcended the classroom. We look forward to continuing to inspire students' passion for and exploration of history.
