S3 field study

Today, the Form 3 students went to Tai Po New Town for a field study on land use. The sites visited included Tai Po Innovation Park, Ting Kau Mangrove, Tai Po Waterfront Park, Tai Wo Estate, Kwong Fuk Road, and Lam Tsuen River.


The focus of this study included the location factors affecting the Tai Po Innovation Park and Science Park, the role of recreational land as a buffer between industrial and residential areas, the importance of SSSI in ecological protection, as well as the differences between natural rivers and artificial rivers and how land use impacts water quality.


The students listened attentively to the geography teacher's explanations, learned to apply various observation techniques, and explored different geographical issues, deepening their understanding of the knowledge from their textbooks. In addition, the students noticed the litter in the mangroves and actively participated in the clean-up effort, contributing to environmental protection and adding more significance to the field trip.
