Our team of three S5 Economics students recently participated in the "2025/26 Economics Infographic Challenge" co-organized by the Education Bureau, CUHK, PolyU, and the Hong Kong Economic Association. Facing fierce competition with 142 student works received, our team was proudly among the 12 teams shortlisted for the final presentation phase!
In the finals, through excellent teamwork and in-depth research, the trio proudly brought home the Merit Award, individual certificates, and a HK$150 book voucher for the team!
During the presentation phase, our student representatives delivered a compelling analysis on a highly relevant macroeconomic topic: "Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz: A Crisis or an Opportunity for China?" Applying advanced economic concepts such as oligopoly, stagflation, and price controls, the students deeply analyzed the impact of global oil market fluctuations on China's energy security. They also explored China’s strategic transition towards green energy, the implementation of AI smart grids, and critically evaluated the future geopolitical challenges surrounding rare earths and key minerals.
This valuable experience not only enhanced the students' academic knowledge and presentation skills but also broadened their horizons on global economics and geopolitics. Congratulations to our three students for their hard work, incredible teamwork, and stellar performance!
