Dear Parents and Students,
Yesterday, a severe level five alarm fire broke out at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, and firefighting efforts are still ongoing. Let us unite in prayer for all the residents. Please bow your heads and quiet your hearts with me.
Merciful and loving Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up in earnest prayer the fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po.
We ask for Your protection over the residents still trapped and awaiting rescue. Watch over them, grant them resilient spirits to face this crisis, and be their refuge, shielding them from danger. Lord, grant them the wisdom to protect themselves and have hearts of peace and calm as they wait for help.
We also pray for the safety of all the firefighters. Amidst the thick smoke and darkness, be their guide and their strength, enabling them to seize every opportunity to save each life. Protect them personally, Lord, and grant them courage and steadiness to face these challenges.
We ask for Your healing hand upon the injured, and strength for the paramedics, that they may have the energy to save every life. Comfort those who have lost loved ones, and heal their inner wounds. Even when walking through the valley of the shadow of death, may they fear no evil, for they know deeply that You are with them.
Lord, we especially ask for Your comfort for those residents awaiting news of their family members. Grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, for Your rod and Your staff, they comfort them.
Provide for all the urgent needs of the residents—warm clothing, food, shelter, and all necessary supplies. Grant them peace in their hearts and the warmth of support.
Grant wisdom and discernment to the government and relevant organizations, so they may offer the most appropriate assistance to those in need.
We sincerely bring all these prayers before You, trusting that You hear us. In the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen! |
If parents notice that their children are emotionally affected by this incident, it is advisable to reduce exposure to related news coverage. Instead, allow more quiet time for them to process their feelings. Please also contact your children’s school / teachers so the school can provide further support.
We will follow up closely. May the Lord keep everyone in peace.
Best Regards,
C. Cheung
